Auto companies including Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and Toyota Kirloskar Motor extended their warranty and free service period by June 30, in the wake of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

“With customer convenience at the core of initiatives, we have decided to extend the free services, warranty, and extended warranty for our customers till June 30th, 2021. Earlier, these were expiring between March 15th and May 31st, 2021. Since customers in several States are facing restricted movement, this extension will give them relief. They can avail these services at their convenience, as lockdown eases.” said Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Director (Service), Maruti Suzuki India.

While Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) said it has extended vehicle warranty and customer-paid extended warranty period by one month in the states where restrictions have been imposed by the government due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Commenting on the extension TKM Senior Vice President Naveen Soni said, “ The company has also extended pre-paid service packages, among others, for the benefit of the customers under its ‘Customer Connect Program 2.0’ initiative.’’

The dealerships will continue their efforts to support customers, and as a responsible corporate citizen the company is extending its support to even take care of vehicle sanitisation used by frontline warriors, he added.

Tata Motors on Tuesday said it has extended warranty and free service period till June 30 for those passenger vehicle customers whose tenures are due on April 1 and May 31.

Several customers are unable to service vehicles scheduled for maintenance due to the ongoing lockdown across the country. To offer customers a seamless and hassle free after-sales experience, the company has decided to extend warranty and free service period but not kilometres, Tata Motors said in a statement.
