17,000 new credit cards issued by ICICI linked to wrong users

There is a good news for the users of Google Pay. Users of Google Pay now have another option to make payments through UPI. Now Google Pay users can link their RuPay credit cards to the app and make UPI payments. Google Pay has reached an agreement with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for this. Until now, UPI payments could only be made with debit cards, but now people can easily make online or offline merchant payments through UPI using RuPay credit cards.

How to link your RuPay credit card?
The process of linking your RuPay credit card to the Google Pay app is very easy. First, you need to open the Google Pay app. Then, you have to click on the profile icon appearing in the top right corner. Here, right next to the option with your bank account details, you will see the option to link your RuPay credit card on the same screen. After clicking here, you will need to select the option of the bank that issued your credit card. If your phone number is linked to the bank, in the next step, your masked credit card will automatically appear. Now, you can set up your UPI PIN. For this, you will need to enter the last 6 digits of the credit card. Then, you have to enter the card’s expiry date and PIN number. After that, there will be an OTP verification, and your RuPay credit card will be linked. Now, you can easily make payments anywhere.

Is it available for all cards? This feature is not available for Visa or Mastercard digital cards. It will only be possible if you have your own digital payment card, specifically a RuPay credit card from India. So far, this feature is available for RuPay credit card holders of Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank, Indian Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Punjab National Bank, and Union Bank of India. More banks will also start offering this feature in the future. Remember that with this, you can only make payments to merchants, i.e., P2M transactions. It will not be possible to send money to individuals in this way.
