SBI news today: SBI once again cautions its customers against fraudsters. The bank says that customers need to be very careful because fraudsters are stealing money from bank accounts by adopting new techniques.

SBI released a video explaining to customers how the frauds take place. In the video, the impostor attributes himself as a bank officer and asks the customer to update the KYC. He makes the customer download an app, after which he takes the customer’s phone to remote access. Later, the money gets transferred from the account of the customer to another account.

What is SBI Alert?

SBI alerted its 40 crore customers to not give any personal detail like Aadhar Card number or PAN card number to anyone.

In the video, it is shown that the fraudster says that the Aadhaar card and PAN card will have to be given and for this, the customer doesn’t need to go to the branch.

The customer is then asked to download an app named QuickView so that KYC details can be filed.

When any customer downloads the app, personal information is stolen from the phone along with the amount deposited in the account. Therefore, customers must avoid getting into such a trap.

“We urge our customers not to share their banking details or grant remote access to their phone or any other device from which the bank account is operated. Stay alert. Stay safe,” the bank tweeted.

SBI also said that the bank never calls any customer or asks for their personal information, nor do they ever need access to the phone.
