Money9 Budget Wishlist survey was conducted in January 2021 across TV9 Network's social media platforms. Over 11,000 respondents answered a series of multiple-choice questions. Here is what India expects from Union Budget 2021
54% believe that Budget 2021 will help revive the economy
57% expect the budget to ramp up demand by reducing taxes on consumer durables
Three in every five people expect the tax exemptions to increase, to get more money in hand
Most people believe the government will increase the nil-tax slab from the current 2.5 lakh rupees
More than half expect LTCG to go
64% believe PPF limit will be raised from the current cap of 1.5 lakh rupees per annum
60% of the surveyed population expects only one tax structure to be announced
Only 30% people seemed to have benefitted from the dual tax structure announced last year
Three in five people expect the FM to encourage footfalls in the retail sector
A similar number want the FM to incentivise the Travel & Tourism sector
Half the population surveyed expects the prices of work-from-home products to reduce this year
