EPFO extends deadline for pension application, DDA to open scheme for 5,500 flats, Five more Vande Bharat trains launched

Travelling in train just become more comfortable. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched five Vande Bharat trains, including one on the Goa-Mumbai route. The Madgaon-Mumbai Vande Bharat express is Goa’s first Vande Bharat express. The other sets are Bhopal-Jabalpur, Khajuraho-Bhopal-Indore, Dharwad-Bengaluru and Hatia-Patna. The Goa train will run three days a week. And cover the distance in about 7 hr 30 mins.

CanBank offers UPI through RuPay credit cards

Canara Bank has become the first public sector bank in India to introduce UPI payments for merchants through its RuPay Credit Card. This feature is now accessible within the bank’s ‘Canara AI1’ Banking Super App. It has partnered National Payments Corporation of India for this service. Now Canara Bank customers can make UPI payments to merchants directly from their RuPay Credit Cards. Customers will have to link their Canara Bank RuPay Credit Cards to their UPI IDs, to conduct credit card transactions using this secure and seamless digital payment method.

EPFO extends deadline for pension application

Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has given a big relief for its members wanting to opt for higher pension. Now the deadline for submission of applications has been extended to July 11. This is the second time when the deadline to apply for opting for higher pension has been extended. Earlier it was extended from May 3 to June 26. More than 12 lakh people have already applied to EPFO ​​for higher pension. The EPFO has also launched a pension calculator for the benefit of its members.

DDA to open scheme for 5,500 flats

Here is an opportunity for citizens to buy flats in Delhi. The Delhi Development Authority will start the registration process for 5,500 flats on June 30 as part of its Phase IV housing scheme under first-come, first-serve basis. The flats are in Jasola, Dwarka, Lok Nayak Puram, Rohini, Siraspur and Narela. The flats are available for all categories of scociety. A non-refundable registration fee of Rs 1,000 will be charged. Self-baggage drop facility at IGI

Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal-3 introduced self-baggage drop facility which is expected to reduce the wait time by 15-20 minutes. Domestic flyers can now use this facility as well. Currently, only IndiGo passengers are able to use this facility and is soon expected to be extended to other airlines like Air India, Vistara, Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and British Airways. The service will be available for international flyers post-mandatory approvals.

HDFC-HDFC Bank merger effective July 1

The merger of housing finance major HDFC with the country’s largest private lender HDFC Bank will be effective from July 1. The boards of HDFC and the private bank will meet on June 30 to clear and approve the merger. HDFC Bank on April 4 last year agreed to take over the biggest domestic mortgage lender in a deal valued at about 40 billion dollars , creating a financial services titan. The delisting of HDFC will be effective from July 13.

Govt to release tur dal stocks

The central government will release Tur pulses from the buffer stocks till imported stocks arrive. The stocks will be sold through online auction. The government maintains buffer stock to manage supplies and control prices. The quantity being being auctioned and the frequency will be carefully calibrated on the basis of requirement.

The IPO of Infosys backed, drone maker, ideaForge Technology has got amazing response on the D-Street. The IPO quota was subscribed more than 13 times by 4 pm on second day. Retail investors showed overwhelming response, subscribing their quota more than 36 times. Non institutional investors quota was subscribed more than 21 times. QIBs data is yet to come. The total size of the IPO is 567 crore rupees. Its stock was trading at GMP of 490 rupees on Tuesday.
