States which have been affected the most in the second wave of Covid-19 are now witnessing a dip in new cases

According to the govt, about 200 crore vaccine doses will be prepared between August and December. Apart from the 130 crore Covishield doses and 55 crore covovax doses will be purchased.

The number of people contracting the Covid-19 virus has seen a dip, according to the Health Ministry, with the recovery rate increasing to 83.83% and active cases close to 15%.

In fact, states which have been affected the most in the second wave of Covid-19 are now witnessing a dip in new cases.

According to the Health Ministry, new cases are coming down in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat but are witnessing a rise in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Punjab, Assam, Odisha, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh.

The positivity rate in Delhi has come down to 11% while in Mumbai, new cases were less than 2,000, the lowest in the last 63 days.

Vaccination update

In Maharashtra, 1.94 crore vaccine doses have been administered since the drive began on January 16.

Delhi, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat have vaccinated more than the national average per 1000 people.

Vaccination for those above 18

In India, the first dose of vaccine has been administered to 3.28 lakh people between 18 and 44 years of age in the last 24 hours. With this, in the third phase of vaccination, a total of 42,58,756 people between the ages of 18-44 have been given the first dose of vaccine. Of these, the first dose of vaccine has been given to 3,66,239 in Uttar Pradesh, 6,14,253 in Rajasthan, 6,40,922 in Maharashtra, 5,26,232 in Delhi, 4,50,980 in Gujarat and 5,08,034 in Bihar.
