Covid-19: PM Modi to hold review meeting today; discuss covid-19 crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting on May 2, to review the human resource situation in dealing with the covid-19 pandemic and ways to expand the management of the crisis. The meeting will discuss the situation of healthcare infrastructure, oxygen, medical supply, and care facilities to combat the worsening covid-19 crisis in the country.
The meeting comes amid various reports on the challenges faced by the healthcare infrastructure due to the surge in the covid-19 cases, with testing facilities also being under a strain.
On May 1, Delhi High Court had instructed the Centre to supply 490 metric tonnes of allocated oxygen share to the national capital or face contempt. This direction had come after the Delhi HC took the note of eight deaths at Batra Hospital in the national capital due to lack of oxygen supply.
In the past, Modi had held review meetings with, institutions like the army, doctors, experts, and ministers to assess the situation. The Army had highlighted that they had opened temporary hospitals and their medical staff is also treating civilians wherever they can during a meeting with the Prime Minister.
