Telangana adds 5,695 Covid-19 cases, death toll rises to 2,417

Telangana reported 5,695 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to over 4.55 lakh while the toll rose to 2,417 with 49 more casualties, the state government said on Monday.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 1,352, followed by Rangareddy (483) and Medchal Malkajgiri (427), it said in a bulletin said on Sunday providing details as of 8 PM on May 2.

The state has 80,135 active cases and over 58 thousand samples were tested on Sunday.
Cumulatively, over 1.31 crore samples have been tested.
The samples tested per million population was over 3.52 lakh, the bulletin said.
The case fatality rate in the state was 0.52%, while it was 1.1% at the national level.
The recovery rate in Telangana was 81.91%, while it was 81.7% in the country.
The state has 199 active micro containment zones.
