If you have registered your phone number with UIDAI and linked it to your Aadhaar, you can check the records of the last six months of your Aadhaar authentication

Ever since the government made the Aadhar Card compulsory, it has become a significant document to prove identity. Aadhaar is a 12 digit unique identification number issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) by taking into account a person’s biometric details such as iris scan and fingerprints, and demographic information like date of birth and address. So, it becomes all more important that you keep a check against any misuse of your Aadhaar card. Here’s how you can keep a check on how your Aadhaar card is being used:

1.  From your registered mobile number

If you have registered your phone number with UIDAI and linked it to your Aadhaar, you can check the records of the last six months of your Aadhaar authentication.

 2. From your UIDAI portal

The 12-digit UID number is assigned by a statutory authority named UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India). You can check your Aadhaar card’s history on the UIDAI website by following these steps.

  • Log on to https://resident.uidai.gov.in/
  • In the third column ‘Aadhar Services’, click on ‘Aadhaar authentication history’
  • Fill in your Aadhaar number & security code next
  • Click on ‘Generate OTP
  • Click on ‘Send OTP’. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number
  • After entering the OTP, you will be asked to fill in your inquiry details like the number of transactions, time period when the transactions took place, etc.
  • Click on ‘Submit’ after entering the OTP
  • You’ll get a detailed history of the date, time & type of authentications that took place during your requested time period. You can track if there are any suspicious authentication made, however, this information will not show you who made these requests.
