Users who don't reactivate the wallet after seven days will have to pay anywhere between Rs 100 and Rs 140

Inactive Mobikwik users will have to pay a ‘wallet maintenance charge’, according to a report in The Times of India.

Users who don’t reactivate the wallet after seven days will have to pay anywhere between Rs 100 and Rs 140.

Mobikwik unveiled this policy on February 21 and the company said it will refund the money if any user reactivates the wallet even after the maintenance fee has been debited and does a transaction.

RBI rules state that e-wallets can charge users for inactive wallets but consumers can still go to the regulator if it was not stated in the policy when they had joined the platform.

Other entities like Paytm and PhonePe are yet to charge inactive users.

Mobikwik claims to have around 100 million users.
