Commercial LPG cylinder rates increased by Rs 266

The price of cooking gas, liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) have been increased by Rs 266. From today onwards, commercial 19 kg cylinders in Delhi would cost Rs 2000.50, up from Rs 1734 previously. However, household users will be relieved to learn that the price of domestic LPG cylinders would not rise.
After a 266% increase, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased to Rs 2000.5, up from Rs 1735.5 previously. In Mumbai, though, a commercial gas cylinder weighing 19 kg can cost you Rs 1950. In Kolkata, a 19 kg gas cylinder would now cost Rs 2073.50, while in Chennai, a 19 kg cylinder will cost Rs 2133.
The government policy calls for each household to receive 12 cylinders of 14.2-kg at subsidised or below-market prices. Any quantity in excess of this has to be purchased at the market or non-subsidized rates.
Last month, the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders was raised by Rs 15 per cylinder across all categories, including subsidised gas. In less than two months, prices have risen for the fourth time. On October 1, both subsidised and non-subsidised LPG tariffs were increased by Rs 25 per cylinder.
The current rise in the subsidised LPG price brings the total cost hike since January 1 to Rs 205 per cylinder.
