July witnesses 4% sequential growth in hiring activity: Report
In travel and tourism, job postings saw a steep MoM rise at 16% in July, while office equipment, automation and real estate have witnessed a 9% growth
According to Monster Employment Index by Monster.com, July 2021 saw a 4% sequential growth in hiring as compared to June, with the uptick mainly spread across metros, PTI report. In July, the overall job postings has also improved by 8% YoY, indicating a continued positive outlook for the coming months, it added. The report further said due to the pandemic, industries like travel and tourism, office equipment, automation and real estate sectors had a slump in hiring. However, these sectors are witnessing a positive uptick now, it added.
Positive growth in job postings for July
In travel and tourism, job postings saw a steep MoM rise at 16% in July. This came as a welcome relief to industry which has been facing challenges since the onset of Covid-19, the report said.
The report also said that shipping and marine witnessed a 14% MoM growth, while office equipment, automation and real estate have witnessed a 9% MoM growth in job postings for July 2021.
Also, Delhi-NCR (8%), Pune(7%), Hyderabad(7%), Chennai(6%) and Bengaluru(6%), witnessed a sequential job postings growth in July.
