At present, the fuel retailers allow their customers to choose the LPG distributor for online transfer of the connection to another distributor serving in the same area of their own network and for cylinder refills.

Impacting the common man’s wallet, the government oil companies have once again increased the price of non-subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) domestic cylinders by Rs 25. With this hike, the domestic cylinder (14.2 kilograms) would now cost Rs 884.50 apiece in Delhi. In Mumbai, a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder is now priced at Rs 884.50. For a cooking gas cylinder in Chennai, customers will now have to pay Rs 900.50.

Rates of the domestic cylinder (14.2 kilograms) in metros:

Delhi – Rs 884.5

Kolkata – Rs 911

Mumbai – Rs 884.5

Chennai – Rs 900.5

In just 15 days, the price of a non-subsidized LPG cylinder has increased by Rs 50. On August 18, the price of the LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 25. Before today’s hike, the price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi was Rs 859.50.

Te price of commercial LPG has also been hiked by up to Rs 75 per cylinder. The new LPG cylinder price rate is effective from September 1.

On the other hand, Petrol and diesel prices eased by 10 to 15 paise each on September 1, across the country, state-run oil companies notified. Petrol price in Delhi declined by 15 paise from Rs 101.49 to Rs 101.34 per litre, while diesel also fell by 15 paise from Rs 88.92 to Rs 88.77 per litre.
