The announcement of the Ola group to open the pre-booking of its Ola e-scooter from July 15 has received an unprecedented response from the public. Ola e-scooter became the ‘most pre-booked e-scooter ever’ as the pre-booking numbers zoomed past one lakh within 24 hours. Ola Group Chairman and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced via a tweet about the phenomenal response.

Ola e-scooter is the latest entrant in the lucrative and ever-growing list of E2W in India. Here are some of the vehicles that Ola’s flagship offering will compete against:

HERO NYX HS500 ER- The zippy offering from the trusted brand of HERO – Electric NYX scooters pack a punch in terms of mobility and efficiency in this category. The high-end variant of NYX scooters – HS500 ER claims mileage of 100 KMs per charge and comes with a motor power of 600-1300 Watts. The stylish e-scooter is also the most pocket-friendly in this segment, with a price tag of Rs 79,900 Ex-showroom. To provide easy access to charging facilities, Hero Electric has established 600 touchpoints across India & plans to expand it to 1500 by the end of 2021.

Bajaj Chetak Urbane- When it comes to scooters in India, Bajaj Chetak is a legend in its own right. Continuing its legacy, the company has revamped the legendary scooter and gone electric to appeal to the new-age riders. Bajaj Chetak Urbane comes with a sleek design and plenty of swanky color options to choose from.

The e-scooter priced at Rs 1 lakh Ex-showroom, claims a range of 95 KMs per charge and motor power of 4080 Watts.

Ather 450X –Priced at Rs 1.27 lakh Ex-showroom, the sporty e-scooter with its futuristic design and practicality has managed to woo a significant number of customers. The power-packed scooter claims a mileage of 116 KMs per charge and comes with a powerful 6000 Watts motor. Expanding its pan-India network, Ather Energy has set up 129 Ather charging grids to provide end-to-end charging convenience to its customers. For the icing on the cake – Ather also offers assured buyback for 450X at the end of three years.
