The cars that Indians bought most in June 2021

The automobile industry in the country witnessed a sharp recovery in June 2021, when sales accelerated to 2.55 lakh units up from 1.03 lakh units in May. Maruti Suzuki continued to be the best-selling four-wheeler passenger car brand cornering nearly half the market share.

Korean multinational automotive manufacturer Hyundai was in the second place. Tata Motors and Mahindra captured the third and fourth places respectively.

Kia, another South Korean automobile manufacturer and one of the later entrants in the Indian market, was in the fifth place.

WagonR from Maruti Suzuki emerged as the largest-selling car model in India in June 2021. But who were the rest? Take a look.

1) Maruti Suzuki WagonR

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR registered total sales of 19,447 units in June 2021, compare with 2,086 units in the month of May. The growth: more than 800%.

2) Maruti Suzuki Swift

Swift was in the number two position with total sales of 17,727 units last month. It was just 7,005 units in the month of May.

3) Maruti Suzuki Baleno

Baleno witnessed total wholesales of 14,701 units in June against 4,803 units in May. The growth rate was, therefore, more than 206%.

4) Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

Brezza posted total sales of 12,833 units in June 2021, a whopping 384% more that that in May.

5) Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Suzuki Dzire occupied the fifth slot. It clocked total sales of 12,639 units in June 2021.

6) Maruti Suzuki Alto

Alto is one of the oldest models in the Indian market. It was the sixth best-selling model in June with total sales of 12,513 units.

7) Hyundai Creta

Hyundai Creta was in the seventh slot, registering total sales of 9,941 units last month.

8) Maruti Ertiga

Maruti Ertiga was in the eighth position. It was posted total sales of 9,920 units.

9) Maruti Eeco

At the ninth position was the Maruti Eeco with total sales of 9,218 units in June 2021.
