Raghav Narsalay, Managing Director at Accenture Research, mentioned it is 'just a little way of paying back my debt to the city and citizens that made me what I am today'.

Getting ambulance service at Rs 1oo in times when a litre of diesel price is being retailed at nearly the same amount is bound to astonish citizens of this country. The magnanimity of Raghav Narsalay, however, is the reason why this service is a reality in Navi Mumbai. He launched the service on June 29 with the primary aim of helping distressed citizens get this vital support at an affordable price. In a LinkedIn post on July 25, he listed the story behind this journey and expressed gratitude to those who extended him support.

Narsalay said he used his personal savings to buy a brand new ambulance, appointed an ambulance chauffeur and equipped it with an oxygen cylinder, stretcher and a wheelchair.

Here’s the full text of the post:

On June 29th, 2021 i started an ambulance service in the city of Navi Mumbai for Rs. 100 a trip, with a simple philosophy that helping each other is a basic human responsibility. For me it was one of the ways of living the core values of Accenture (the wonderful place where i work) in daily life.

Using my savings, i purchased a brand new ambulance from Tata Motors, appointed an ambulance chauffeur and equipped it with an oxygen cylinder, stretcher and a wheelchair.

With 0% experience and 100% enthusiasm, we began providing the service within the jurisdiction of #NaviMumbai, for just Rs. 100 for a trip whatever the distance and time consumed. And yesterday we completed 10 successful trips. Our customers, who are now a part of our extended family, have shared some amazing testimonials (pasted below). We wish to thank them for sharing their blessings and for joining us in this journey.

A big #thankyou to my #family and my #colleagues for their emotional support. Without them this just would not be possible. Special thanks to Bhaskar Ghosh, Rekha M Menon, Mahesh Zurale, Francis Hintermann, Barbara Harvey, Kshitija Krishnaswamy for their encouragement.

Let me also acknowledge the silent inspirers, Julie Sweet, Jimmy Etheredge, Raghunath Mashelkar, Ratan Tata, Sonu Sood, Pradeep Mehta amongst many others whose actions and thoughts have helped me cross the bridge of contemplation and embrace action. A big thank you to Motion Dime for helping with the social media campaign, designing the website amongst other things. Also wanted to take this opportunity to thank Hindustan Times, Loksatta, indianexpress.com, Sakaal Media Group , newsband and many other media houses for sharing coverage of this initiative.
