Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has invited online applications for the recruitment to the post of mines inspectors. This recruitment drive is being conducted to fill up a total of 100 vacancies. Out of these 34 posts are reserved for women. The registration process has already begun on September 21, 2021. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through the official website of the commission at bssc.bihar.gov.in. The last date of registration is October 20, 2021. However, the last date of submission of application and fee payment is October 22, 2021. All candidates can check vacancy details, academic qualification, age limit and other details below.

Vacancy details

The total number of vacancies is 100. Take a look at the category-wise details.

General/ unreserved: 41 posts

Backward Classes (BC): 11 posts

Extremely Backward Classes (EBC): 19 posts

Scheduled Caste (SC): 15 posts

Scheduled Tribe (ST): 1 post

Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 10 posts

Backward classes (Female): 03 posts

Eligibility criteria

– Educational qualification: Candidates should have a diploma in mines and mines surveying from any recognised institute or hold a degree in geology from any recognised university.

– Age limit: The candidates should have attained the age of 21 years. The maximum age for male candidates is 37 years and 40 years is for female candidates. Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for reserved category candidates as per government guidelines.

Application fee

The application fee for candidates out of Bihar/ General/ Backward Classes (BC)/ Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) category is Rs 750, whereas Rs 200 is applicable to female/ PWD/ ST/ SC category candidates.

Selection process

Selection of candidates will be done for the post on the basis of preliminary and mains examinations. The qualifying marks for candidates from the general category is 40%, for the BC category is 36.5%, for the EBC category is 34% and 32% is for candidates from SC/ ST/ female/ PwD category.
