Covid-19: 44,658 cases registered in the last 24 hours in the country

The national recovery rate of Covid-19 has increased to 97.60% with 32,988 patients recovering during the last 24 hours till 8:00 am.

The active cases account for less than 2% of total cases, currently at 1.06%.

India has reported 44,658 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The total recoveries across the country so far are 3,18,21,428. According to the health ministry’s data, 32,988 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.

The active caseload is currently at 3,44,899 with a cumulative total of 3.26 crore cases. The national recovery rate of Covid-19 has increased to 97.60% with 32,988 patients recovering during the last 24 hours till 8:00 am. The active cases account for less than 2% of total cases, currently at 1.06%.

The weekly positivity rate stands at 2.10%, less than 3% for the last 63 days. The daily positivity rate currently stands at 2.45% less than 3% for the last 32 days.

The testing capacity has also been substantially ramped up to 51.49 crores in the country.

Vaccination drive

Cumulative vaccine doses administered so far have reached 61.22 crores.

In a significant achievement, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 61 Crore (61,10,43,573) landmark milestone as per the 7 pm provisional report on August 26. Nearly 68 lakh (67,87,305) vaccine doses have been administered, as per the 7 pm provisional report.

The new phase of universalisation of the vaccination programme commenced from June 21. Under the programme, the central government made inoculation free of cost for all adults. Vaccines were earlier free for people above 45 years of age.

According to the ministry, more than 70% of the deaths that have been reported are due to comorbidities.
