Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the country is administering about 1.25 crore Covid vaccine shots every day, highlighting that this is higher than the population of several countries. He said over 70 crore vaccines shots have been, while addressing the people of Himachal Pradesh. He praised Himachal Pradesh for vaccinating almost the entire state population with at least one dose. About 30% of its residents have got their second dose as well.

He lauded the chief minister of the state Jai Ram Thakur for the fast pace of vaccination without much wastage.
PM also appreciated the tireless efforts of Covid warriors, including doctors, paramedical staff, Asha and anganwadi workers and teachers.
The vaccination drive was successful through public participation and public dialogue in Himachal Pradesh, he added.
He said the state achieved 100% first dose vaccination target even in its remote areas like Dodra Kwar in Shimla district and tribal district Lahaul-Spiti by working as a team.
