Walmart-owned Flipkart on Tuesday said the eighth edition of its flagship event, The Big Billion Days will be hosted between October 7 and 12 this year. A statement said that six-day event will see the participation of millions of consumers, sellers, small businesses, artisans, Kiranas, brands and e-commerce ecosystem partners. From metros to tier 2 cities and beyond, the Big Billion Days will bring several new opportunities for homegrown brands and sellers to celebrate with consumers across the country, this year.

Festive season to be a major boost

It said that in the past year and a half, Flipkart has largely built and aided a collaborative and democratic retail ecosystem for MSMEs to revive and revitalise their businesses. Throughout the event, a host of new launches, games, interactive videos, live streams and rewards, it said.

The festive season is where E-commerce companies will see most of its business coming in and they make significant investments ahead of time to ramp up their capacity and add features to be able to handle the spike in orders, and at the same time ensure a smooth experience for shoppers and sellers.
