Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), a public sector shipbuilding company under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, has invited applications for recruitment to the post of apprentice in various departments. This recruitment drive is initiated to fill up a total number of 256 vacancies. As per the notification, the duration of training is 12 months or as per Apprentice Act. 1) Trade apprentice (ex- ITI): 170 posts
Trades: fitter, welder (gas & electric), electrician, machinist, pipe fitter, carpenter, draughtsman (mechanical), programming and systems administration assistant, electronic mechanic, painter, mechanic (diesel), fitter (structural), secretarial assistant (English), mechanic machine tool maintenance, information & communication technology system maintenance, refrigeration and air-conditioning mechanic.
2) Trade apprentice (fresher): 40 posts
Trades: fitter, welder (gas & electric), electrician, pipe fitter, machinist
3) Graduate apprentice: 16 posts
Disciplines: mechanical, electrical, computer science & information technology, civil.
4) Technician apprentice: 30 posts
Disciplines: mechanical, electrical, electronics & telecommunication, civil.
Eligibility criteria
1) Trade apprentice (Ex-ITI):
Essential qualification: Candidates should have passed the All India Trade Test (AITT) for Craftsmen Training Scheme and possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) in the respective feeder trade.
Age limit: Candidates should have completed a minimum of 14 years of age and a maximum of 25 years of age as on September 01, 2021.
2) Trade apprentice (fresher):
Essential qualification: Candidates should have passed class 10th standard / Madhyamik or equivalent examination from a recognised central or state board.
Age limit: Candidates should have completed a minimum of 14 years of age and a maximum of 20 years of age as on September 01, 2021.
3) Graduate apprentice
Essential qualification: Candidates should have a degree in engineering or technology recognised by a statutory university or by an institution empowered to grant such degree by an act of Parliament in the respective subject fields.
Age limit: Candidates should have completed a minimum of 14 years of age and a maximum of 26 years of age as on September 01, 2021.
4) Technician apprentice
Essential qualification: Applicants should have a diploma in engineering granted by a state council or board of technical education established by a state government or university in the respective subject fields.
Age limit: Candidates should have completed a minimum of 14 years of age and a maximum of 26 years of age as on September 01, 2021.
Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for reserved category candidates as per government guidelines.
