Making a financial budget is probably the important step to begin with. While making your budget do not forget to be accounting for all foreseen expenses and keeping aside a certain amount for unforeseen expenses for your holiday.

As inter-state borders are reopening, curbs on travel are being eased and foreign countries are accepting travellers with Covid-19 vaccines administered in India, holiday plans are on the rise again. Taking these cues, travel companies are rolling out attractive offers to enhance consumer confidence and accelerate domestic tourism.

Heavy discounts

Online travel booking company Yatra is offering discounts on hotels, flights (both international and domestic) and bus services. The discounts for holiday packages are as high as 60%.

Yatra co-founder and COO said that tour operators and online travel agents (OTA) are providing an array of offers and discounts to enhance consumer confidence and accelerate domestic tourism.

Flash sales

Booking.com is set to roll out a ‘Flash Deal’ in the form of a 36-hour bi-weekly promotion. Travellers would be able to save at least 30% from properties across India and all around the globe. Other offers being rolled out include getaway deals for stays, last-minute and early booking deals, and other special discounts that are available on the company’s app.

One of the most popular platforms for holidays and travel bookings, MakeMyTrip has announced similar offers as well. Currently, there is a sale across bookings on holidays, flights, cabs, and hotels and customers could win deals on a regular basis until August 16.

Holiday festival

Thomas Cook and SOTC Travel have come up with the India Holiday Festival. This comes with special rebates that could be availed from July 28 to August 6. Bookings could be made through the companies’ retail outlets, websites, mobile apps etc.

Some of the most popular holiday destinations that come loaded with offers are Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Ladakh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

For international travel, it has announced a BOGO (buy one get one free) scheme. This two-pronged offer covers global destinations like Russia, Maldives and Egypt where people get a ‘staycation’ free on booking a domestic holiday.
