Maruti Suzuki India has announced that it will increase the prices of all its vehicles from September 1, due to rising input costs. The company said that due to an increase in various input costs, the price of vehicles was severely affected over the past year. “It has become crucial for the company to raise the price and pass the impact of the additional cost to customers,” it said in a regulatory filing.

Maruti Suzuki India said, “the price rise has been planned across models in September 2021.”

The company sells a range of models like entry-level hatchback Alto, S-CROSS, priced between Rs 2.99 lakh and Rs 12.39 (ex-showroom prices Delhi) lakh, respectively.

In July, the country’s largest carmaker had hiked prices of hatchback Swift and CNG variants of other models by up to Rs 15,000.

Earlier in April, it had hiked prices of most of its models by up to Rs 22,500 owing to an increase in various input costs.

Maruti Suzuki’s recent announcement of the hike is the third the company has made this year.
