Probably, today is going to be the last day that some of the WhatsApp users enjoy the services of Facebook-owned messaging app. You might be one of them if you are using a smartphone with dated operating system. The world’s most popular messaging app will stop working on several Android as well as iOS devices from November 1, 2021. Those who have not taken a back-up of their chats are going to lose it.

The devices

Smartphones using android 4.0.4 version or lower will not be able to use WhatsApp from tomorrow. In case of Apple, the version is set at iOS 9 or lower.

WhatsApp has also shared the list of smartphones which fall under this category and won’t be able to use the messaging platform from tomorrow onwards.

From Apple handset range handsets like iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s plus, iPhone SE (1st Generation) will stop working from tomorrow.

Among Samsung model, Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Trend II, Galaxy SII, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy Xcover 2, Galaxy Core and Galaxy Ace 2 will not work. Additionally, some old handset of LG, Sony, Huwai and others are also in the list.

But first check your software version be it Android or iOS and then proceed accordingly.

How to check software version

Go to your phone’s setting section first and then click on ‘Software version’. There you will see which version you have currently in your phone both for Android and iOS. Then check it with the version and act accordingly.

If you are going to log in from another phone with updated software version from tomorrow, then first make a backup of your chats otherwise you will lose everything.

To take a backup click WhatsApp settings, then click ‘chats’ and then select ‘chat backup’. It will take few minutes to create a backup file.

You have very less time in your hand, so do check your phone as soon as possible and act accordingly.
