Prime Minister Narendra Modi also lauded the Ayushman Bharat PMJAY - the world’s largest healthcare scheme on the completion of three years.

The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan-Arogya Yojana has completed three years today. Over 2.19 crore patients have been benefitted from the scheme till now. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also lauded the Ayushman Bharat PMJAY – the world’s largest healthcare scheme on the completion of three years. The scheme provides health insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh to poor households.

In a reply to MyGovIndia, the Prime Minister said, “The importance of healthcare has been even more clearly understood in the year gone by. It is our commitment to ensure top quality and affordable healthcare for our citizens. Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY is key to realising this vision.”

Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya also tweeted that Ayushman Bharat scheme is playing an important role in the treatment of the poor for the last three years.

As per reports, Prime Minister Modi will launch a nationwide rollout of the Pradhan Mantri Digital Health Mission on September 27. Under this, a unique digital health ID will be provided to people which will contain all their health records.
