Cryptocurrency news: Polkadot up by 6.2%, Cardano increases by 4.5%

Nine of the top cryptocurrencies were trading in green with Polkadot showing the highest gain of 6.29% to $33.34. Alt coin Cardano also increased by 4.55% to $2.26. Ethereum, the second largest token inclined by 1.10% to $3,561.26. The world’s biggest and oldest cryptocurrency Bitcoin was the only laggard which fell by 2.21% to $53,755.13 levels in the last 24 hours, after showing a two consecutive gain. Others like XRP, Solana, Dogecoin and Binance Coin showed only a marginal increase on Friday. In terms of ranking, all the cryptocurrencies remained in the same position, except for Polkadot which went two spots up to the 8th position, pushing Dogecoin to the 10th position.

AMC Entertainment to accept Dogecoin for buying gift cards

AMC Entertainment will now accept Dogecoin for buying the theatre’s digital gift cards. AMC’s CEO Adam Aron on twitter said on twitter that users will be able to pay digital gift cards with dogecoins and other cryptocurrencies, using BitPay wallet of up to $200 per day.

The tweet on October 6 read: “Huge news Dogecoin fans! As we work to accept online crypto payments, now you can buy digital gift cards (up to $200 per day) with Dogecoin and other cryptocurrency using a BitPay Wallet.  Accepted on our web site, mobile app, and in theatres”.

SHIB maintains top 20 position; declines by 21%

After SHIB’s spike yesterday by 45% following an anonymous buyer who bought 6.3 trillion Shiba tokens, the crypto fell by 21% in the last 24 hours. However, it has now breached the top 20 mark and is now the 20th largest cryptocurrency in the world.

The crypto is now trading at 0.00002325 with a market cap of $9.17 billion.

Two days ago, the meme coin spiked after a tweet from Tesla boss Elon Musk, which had a photo of his pet Shiba Inu pup named ‘Floki Frunkpuppy’ sitting on an open front hood of a Tesla.
