In terms of ranking, all the cryptocurrencies retained their previous slots, except for Dogecoin which displaced Avalanche in the tenth position.

Solana registered the highest decline of 5.24%, and was trading at $148.04. On the other hand, Dogecoin increased by 3.71% to $0.25. Six of the top ten cryptos were trading in green on Friday. Bitcoin, which is the oldest and the biggest cryptocurrency increased by 0.63% to $47,912.62. USD Coin and Polkadot also increased by 0.01% and 1.83% respectively. All the cryptocurrencies remained in the same position, in terms of ranking.

Governments will kill Bitcoins, if its too successful

In an interview with CNBC, Ray Dalio said that if Bitcoin becomes too successful, then governments across the world will kill it.

The world’s largest hedge fund manager admitted that he owns Bitcoin, but his investment is only a fraction of his investment in gold. He further added that Bitcoin does not have an intrinsic value.

Dalio further argued that the world’s largest cryptocurrency’s value may lie in perception and diversification. His comments on the back of the proposed cryptocurrency bill from the Indian government which is looking to ban all forms of private cryptocurrencies.

However, media reports suggest that the centre may tone down its harsh stance and classify  cryptocurrencies as commodities.

AMC theatres to accept other cryptocurrencies along with Bitcoin

On Wednesday, AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron said on twitter, that AMC theatres will accept other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash for online ticket and concessional payments apart from Bitcoin.

The tweet read, “Cryptocurrency enthusiasts: you likely know @AMCTheatres has announced we will accept Bitcoin for online ticket and concession payments by year-end 2021. I can confirm today that when we do so, we also expect that we similarly will accept Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash”.
