Women in India have a complicated relationship with money. Societal norms have and continue to weigh in on the gamut of money management in most families. It is common for the men of the household to have the final say in major decisions pertaining to money and traditionally women have been relegated to the task of maintaining a strict budget.

Priti Rathi Gupta, Founder LXME , spoke to Money9 on how the fintech start-up is aimed at bridging the gap between women and finance with an expert-backed hassle-free financial platform curated for women.

“Women have today realised the power of speaking up today for their own wants and needs but the one place which they have overlooked is managing own finances and having a financial power which ensures full independence when it comes to decision making as to where you are spending your money.”

She also said that women have differentiated financial needs and a different approach and mind-set toward financial planning. I believe it is imperative for women to take charge of their money through planning and investing tailored for their needs.
