Sensex reclaims 60k-mark, Nifty ends at fresh high

Overall, market breadth was positive as 1,847 stocks advanced on the BSE, while 1,458 declined and 148 remained unchanged

Indian equity benchmarks settled in the green on Friday with Nifty hitting fresh high after the RBI maintained accommodative stance and kept key interest rates unchanged in its monetary policy review. Sensex jumped 381.23 points or 0.64% to close at 60,059.06. Likewise, the NSE Nifty advanced 104.85 points or 0.59% to its fresh closing peak of 17,895.20. Reliance Industries, rising about 4%, was the top Sensex gainer followed by Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, TCS and L&T. HUL, NTPC, Maruti, Dr Reddy’s, Titan and Kotak Bank were among the laggards. Sectoral indices on the NSE ended mixed. Nifty IT, rallying nearly 2%, was the top sectoral gainer followed by Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Media. On the other hand, Nifty Realty, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Financial Services ended in the red.
