Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana (PMJJBY) is a life insurance scheme backed by the union government. In case of death of the insured person, the nominees can claim Rs 2 lakh. As per Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, around 5.91 crore people were enrolled under this scheme until 2019. Here is how a nominee can file a claim under this scheme:
The nominee must ensure that he/she has the death certificate of the policyholder. Following it, the nominee can download the claim form from the jansuraksha website.
