The EPF is managed by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). EPFO allots a Universal Account Number (UAN) for every EPF subscriber/member. You can avail all EPFO services using your UAN.

Three ways

If you forget your UAN, it can be recovered quickly.

There are three ways through which you can proceed – giving a missed call, sending an SMS or trying online.

Within a few seconds you will receive a message from EPFO, where the name of the member, Aadhaar number, UAN, account balance will be mentioned. Make sure that your UAN is connected with your bank account number, Aadhaar, and PAN.

Through SMS

You can also know your UAN through SMS. But before that, you should be sure that your mobile number is registered on the UAN portal. You just have to type EPFOHO UAN ENG and send it to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number.

Within a few seconds other details including UAN you will receive through a message from EPFO.

Remember ‘ENG’ is the first three characters of the preferred language. This facility is available in 10 languages English (default), Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Bengali.
