Government looking to bring over 55 lakh new workers under EPFO
The government is going to give 24% EPF subsidy
Under the initiative of Artmanirbhar Bharat Rozgaar Yojana, the government is looking to enlist over 55 lakh formal workers under the EPF subsidy scheme, Mint reported.
Labour and employment secretary Apurva Chandra told the publication that the labour ministry will track these workers and see if they remain in employment even after the scheme’s benefits are used.
The government is going to give 24% EPF subsidy.
The Labour Ministry will conduct the survey to get data on the number of formal workers and also the number of workers that have shifted to the informal sector.
Survey results will help to maintain the data for the policy.
Gig market will also be included in the survey and it would help formulate the policies for the informal sector as well.
Migrants survey will also be held to know the number of migrant workers in India.
The survey will find the total number of professionals in our country and also their effort to employment generation.
