IPL news: The Board of Control for Cricket in India on May 4 said the Indian Premier League tournament has been suspended indefinitely due to rising cases of Covid-19 in the country.

“Indian Premier League has been suspended indefinitely after multiple COVID-19 cases in its bio-bubble,” league chairman Brijesh Patel said.

Earlier, the IPL game between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. scheduled to be held on May 5, was postponed after CSK bowling coach L Balaji tested positive for the virus.

On May 3, the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore was also postponed after KKR bowlers Sandeep Warrier and Varun Chakravarthy tested positive for the infection.
