80% Indians living in fear of losing jobs

Money9's survey also shows that most of the Indian families are not financially secure, only 6 percent families are completely financially secure.

Amidst the increasing unemployment in the country, there is a large section of employed people who are afraid of losing their jobs. According to Money9’s personal finance survey conducted on Indian families in 115 districts of 20 states of the country. Twenty-four percent people are in fear of losing thier jobs and 56 percent people who have the fear of losing their jobs but not much. That means 80 percent of the people of the country are living in fear of losing their jobs. There are only 20 percent people who have no fear of losing their jobs.

According to the survey, 24 percent of the people who are most afraid of losing their job say that they have enough savings that they can survive for 6 months if they lose their job, similarly, 56 percent of the people who are not very afraid of losing their job. They have so much savings that they can survive without a job for 2-3 months.

Money9’s survey also shows that most of the Indian families are not financially secure, only 6 percent families are completely financially secure, about 20 percent families are less secure, 36 percent families are financially insecure. And 38 percent of the families are in crisis. A survey data also shows that 7 percent of Indian families are such whose monthly income does not cover their monthly expenses.

This survey of more than 35 thousand Indian families in 10 languages has revealed that Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam and West Bengal are the states where the monthly income of Indian families is the lowest. According to the survey, 39 percent of the families in India are such whose monthly income is less than Rs 15 thousand.
