India is going to become an economic power. Soon we will be the third largest economy in the world. Indian stock market has become the fifth largest market in the world. These are those headlines about India which most people know. But very few people would know how many families in the country do not even earn enough to meet their monthly expenses. Has the average size of families in India increased or decreased? After Covid, did the number of earners in the family increase or decrease? The survey also tells how many Indians’ lives have improved compared to last year and how many are still stuck in the struggle for livelihood. The survey data also shows how many Indians are planning to buy a car at which places in the next 6 months. The survey has also revealed the most trusted institutions of India.

Like last year, Money9 has conducted a survey this year also for this information related to the pockets of Indians. This time the survey has covered about 115 districts of 20 states. In this survey conducted from August to November in 10 different languages, information about their earnings, expenditure, savings and investments was collected from more than 35,000 people from more than 1,170 villages or urban wards. This time the survey has focused more on small and medium cities apart from metro cities. The responsibility of the survey was handed over to the reputed agency RTI International. This agency has been conducting such surveys for big institutions like the World Bank.

Last year, for the first time, a survey was conducted on the pockets of Indians and this time, this is the second survey in the same series. This time the survey also revealed whether the income of Indians increased or decreased compared to last year. The survey also shows how many Indians’ lives have improved compared to last year and how many have more burden on their pockets than before.

In India, such surveys are generally conducted by either the Reserve Bank or the National Sample Survey of India. But the latest surveys of both these organizations are much older than Money9’s survey. Money 9’s survey on the current situation provides the most accurate information about the economic health of Indians. This survey of Money9 is actually a survey of India’s pockets. This survey related to your pocket will soon be broadcast on TV9 Bharatvarsh.
