Uber shuttle routes: One can schedule their shuttle rides and book seats seven days in advance
Ride hailing app, Uber, has received an aggregator licence from the Delhi Transport Department to operate buses in the national capital under the Delhi premium Bus Scheme. The buses can be booked on the Uber app under the ‘Shuttle’ option. There will be 50 plus Uber shuttle routes on which the buses will ply. According to Uber, this service is best suited for home-to-work commutes. The buses will cross multiple pick-up and drop points on these routes. The customer can avail of this service on the Uber app. One can schedule their shuttle rides seven days in advance. But you will get shuttle and driver details 25 minutes before pick-up time. You can also select the seat of your choice subject to availability. So, it will be smart to schedule your ride well in advance. You will have more chances that you get the seat of your choice.
All buses will be air-conditioned. It is best suited for home to work commute.
Each shuttle will have the capacity to offer ride service from 19 to 50 passengers at a time.
Some of the routes on which the buses will ply are as follows:
1. Noida to Dwarka 2. Noida to Indirapuram 3. Noida to Ghaziabad 4. Noida to Faridabad 5. Noida to Najafgarh
When the commuter books the ride, the nearest pickup point to his current location on the routes available will also be displayed on the app. This will enable the commuter to know exactly how far is the nearest pick-up point in relation to his current location when he would book the ride.
When you click on the Shuttle option on the app, you will get full list of routes on which the buses will ply. It will show the locations the shuttle will pass through during its journey. The nearest pickup point to your current location will also be displayed along on the selected route. If Uber’s shuttle service is available on the basis of pick-up and drop location you have mentioned, then, a list of routes will show up on the app.
The ride hailing app had run a pilot project in the region. Successful outcomes of which has boosted it to launch the service officially.
