There has been a wave of new fund offers this year with over 50 new funds being launched. SBI’s Balanced Advantage Mutual Fund raised about Rs 14,500 crore while ICICI Pru’s Flexi Fund scheme collected Rs 9,500 crore.
Money9 spoke to Omkeshwar Singh, Head of Mutual Fund, SAMCO Securities, to know what factors investors should consider before investing in them.
According to Omkeshwar, investors should take a decision based on their goals and if their existing funds are offering them the same benefits, then they should steer clear of new fund offers.
He also dwelled on the topic of confusion between initial public offers and new fund offers among a majority of investors.
