Maruti Swift facelift 2021 to be launched in India soon with more powerful engine

If you are planning to buy a powerful and reliable hatchback car then Maruti’s most popular Swift facelift could be your best fit as Maruti Suzuki is now preparing to launch the updated version of Maruti Swift soon. The new Swift facelift has been listed on the company’s official website. It is believed that it can be launched in India soon.

In  2020, the company unveiled the Maruti Swift facelift in Japan. Indian consumers have been waiting for the new Swift for a long time.  The upcoming Swift facelift will sport minor changes to the styling, along with a few other upgrades. The new Swift will sport a larger grille, updated headlamps, and many more features. Let’s understand which different features it has to offer.

Swift facelift Features

Looking at the teaser images, you will see the biggest change is in the engine. The new Swift has been upgraded to include a 1.2-litre petrol engine. Earlier this engine used to generate 83 PS of power but after the update, the engine will generate 90 PS of power and 113 Nm of maximum torque. It will have idle start-stop as standard, this will increase the mileage of the car by about 3 km per litre.

Transmission options will continue to be the same as before – a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. There will also see a slight change in its cabin. In the facelift model, colour MID has been given in the instrument cluster. At the same time, features like cruise control can also be included. This feature is most useful when driving on the highway.

The international look of the facelift Swift features an updated grille with a honeycomb pattern and a thick chrome bar in the centre. Its bumper has also been sharpened as before. The new car will get a dual-tone colour scheme with a black contrast roof. However, this colour can only be given in the top model.

Other features on offer in the 2021 Swift will be an all-LED lighting system (headlights, DRLs, taillights), Smartplay studio infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen (with Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity), multi-colour MID, flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated controls, reverse parking camera, automatic headlamps, etc.

After the launch, the new Swift will cost Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 more than its current model, as it is currently priced at Rs. 5.49 lakh to Rs. 8.02 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The all new swift is said to give tuff fight to Ford Figo, Renault Tribar, Hyundai Grand i10 Neos, and Tata Altroz Turbo. However, Swift has a big market in India.
