Congress restores OPS in Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh government has implemented OPS with retrospective effect from April 1, 2023.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu led Congress government has restored Old Pension Scheme in Himachal Pradesh. Both existing and retired state employees will get the benefit of OPS from April 1, 2023. Himachal Pradesh government has implemented OPS with retrospective effect from April 1, 2023. Restoration of OPS was one of the main promises made by the Congress in the 2022 assembly polls. The state government has lived up to its promises. Contribution of salary towards NPS will stop for over 1.36 lakh employees in the state. 50 per cent of basic salary and DA is dispensed as pension under the OPS.
