Government eases referal process for CGHS beneficiaries in wake of rising medical cost
The government of India has taken this decision in wake of rising cost of medical services. Consultation fees, ICU charges, room rent, etc have become costlier for CGHS beneficiaries.
The government of India has simplified referral process for beneficiaries of Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). The government has allowed CGHS beneficiaries to get CGHS Wellness Center’s medical officer’s referral through video call. The beneficiaries will have all the right to take this referral to the hospital. The beneficiaries can also send someone on his behalf with required documents to the wellness center. His acquaintance will get the reference of the medical officer. And the beneficiary will be able to visit the hospital he has being referred to.
