Budget 2024: No hike in MNREGA allotment

Budget 2024: The Central Government has presented its interim budget. The allocation for various government schemes has been increased in the budget. The allocation for schemes like Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been significantly raised compared to the previous fiscal year. Let’s see how much allocation has increased in which schemes.

Allocation for MGNREGA

Under this, the government’s largest scheme, MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act), the allotment has not been increased. In the previous budget for 23-24, Rs 60,000 crore was allocated to this scheme, then, it was revised by Rs 26,000 crore. While this time it has been kept same at Rs 86,000 crore.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana

Allocation for Ayushman Bharat Yojana has also increased from the previous budget. In the last fiscal year, an allocation of Rs 7,200 crores was made for this scheme, while this budget has allocated Rs 7,500 crores. This means an increase of Rs 300 crores in this budget.

PLI (Production Linked Incentive Scheme)

The scope of the PLI scheme is also being expanded. In the previous fiscal year, Rs 4,645 crores were allocated to this scheme, while this time the budget has allocated Rs 6,200 crores. This means an increase of Rs 1,555 crores in this scheme compared to the previous fiscal year.

Semiconductor and Display Manufacturing Scheme

For the Semiconductor and Display Manufacturing Scheme, Rs 3,000 crore were allocated in the last fiscal year, while this budget has allocated Rs 6,903 crore. This means that this time, more than double the amount has been allocated compared to the previous budget.

Solar Power Scheme

In the Solar Power Scheme, Rs 4,970 crore were allocated in the last fiscal year, while this budget has allocated Rs 8,500 crores. This means that the allocation for this scheme has almost doubled. Similarly, more than double the amount has been allocated for the National Green Hydrogen Scheme.
