Benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened higher on Monday following firm global cues. The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 680 points, or 1.39%, at 49,780 in the early trade, while the 50-share Nifty index advanced 186 points, or 1.28%, at 14,715.
