Festivals in times of Covid-19: Here’s how everyone is adapting to the new normal
Indian festivals are known for their diversity and the enthusiasm shown by people in celebrating each festival is unique.
But the pandemic has totally changed the way festivals are celebrated and instead of brimming with enthusiastic people, gatherings wore a sombre look.
Due to health risks, people were forced to stay indoors and who would have thought that apps would be used to celebrate Diwali virtually!
The coronavirus pandemic has changed our outlook towards festivals. Senior citizens, who are considered to be more inclined towards religious events, have been forced to accept the ‘new normal’.
The youngsters, though have been a little more mobile and adventurous than the elders.
All celebrations went virtual with people offering prayers online.
The government also reiterated numerous times that citizens needed to show restraint while celebrating festivals and maintain social distancing norms.
India is the worst hit in the world after the United States although infections are slowing in the world’s second-most populous country.
