Liberty General Insurance and Yatra collaborate to offer insurance policy for flight cancellations

General insurance company Liberty General Insurance and online travel agency Yatra have collaborated to offer an insurance policy- Liberty Secure Travel which will cover cancellation of flight tickets. The insurance policy for domestic travel will provide an option of ‘cancel for any reason’ to customers. They will be given a reimbursement for losses up to Rs 5,000 and will be able to cancel flights up to 24 hours before departure.

Customers of Yatra can choose Liberty Secure Travel cover when booking a ticket to get refund on the cancellation of their flights.

A substantial amount of the ticket price is deducted as a penalty by the airlines, when a customer cancels a flight ticket. The refund is very small in comparison to the overall ticket price. Through this policy, the customers will not face any cancellation penalty.

The customer will be eligible for a sum insured maximum up to Rs 5,000 for trip cancellation. The sum insured for both accidental death, permanent and total disablement will be Rs 1,00,000.

The age of customers to avail of this policy can range between three months to 70 years.

Starting premium of the travel insurance plan is Rs 399 onwards per flight including GST.

if you have canceled your flight ticket at least one day (24 hours) before the scheduled departure date. you can claim ‘Trip Cancellation Extension’.
