Amazon Prime Video subscription plan just got Rs 500 cheaper

Cheers for all those folks who enjoy watching OTT content. Students have to pay for costly subscription plans of different OTT players with whatever pocket money they have. Amazon has given big relief to such young people who cant afford big OTT expense. Already, Jio Cinema and MX Player have given lot of free content. But off late lot of content on Jio Cinema have gone behind pay walls. Amidst all this, Amazon has launched Amazon Prime Lite (cheaper version of Amazon Prime Video) for viewers in India. But unlike, Prime Video, viewers will have the option of subscribing only yearly plan of Amazon Prime Lite. The yearly subscription plan costs Rs 999. While, yearly plan of Amazon Prime Video costs Rs 1,499. So, Amazon Prime Lite yearly subscription plan is Rs 500 cheaper. But users will get lesser features in the lite version vis-à-vis different subscription plans of Amazon Prime Video.

Lets see which are those features which are missing in Amazon Prime Lite:

No monthly subscription plan with Amazon Prime Lite:

You don’t have the option of subscribing to monthly plans of Amazon Prime Lite. There is only one yearly plan of Rs 999. But with Amazon Prime Video, you have the option of subscribing to both monthly and yearly plans. Monthly plan will cost you Rs 299. While, yearly plan will cost you Rs 1,499. The yearly plan translates to Rs 125 monthly basis. But since, Amazon Prime Lite yearly subscription plan is Rs 999. So, on monthly basis it translates to only Rs 83. So, the lite version is much cheaper.

Skip add feature unavailable with Amazon Prime Lite: Viewers will not get the skip add feature in Amazon Prime Lite version. But with Amazon Prime Video they always have the option of skipping those irritating ads.

Watch videos in 4K resolution only in limited devices in Lite version:

Subscribers can view content in highest quality (4K resolution) in only two devices with Amazon Prime Lite. But, with standard Prime subscriptions, they can view content in highest quality in five devices.

No Amazon Music, Amazon Read in Lite version:

Plus, subscribers also get access to Amazon Music and Amazon Read with standard Prime membership. But in the cheaper version, they cannot access these platforms.

Same day free delivery unavailable with Amazon Prime Lite:

Only free two day delivery service will be given to subscribers of Prime Lite for ordering something on Amazon. While, subscribers of Amazon Prime Video get free same day delivery service for as long as their subscribers plan will be active.
