Have a 5-15-yr-old child? Here's how to update their Aadhaar
  • Follow

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made it mandatory for children in the age group of 5-15 years to update biometric information with Aadhaar card data. If there is a child in your house or someone has child support, then here’s the complete process of this. Updating biometric details is absolutely free. Updating biometric details in Aadhaar does not result in any change in Aadhaar number. Actually, the fingerprints of children older than five years do not change much. That’s why it is necessary to update biometric details in it.

Update like this. 1. For this, you go to the official website of UIDAI, the organisation that issued the Aadhaar card. 2. Now click on the ‘Aadhaar Card’ registration option. 3. Now fill the information sought here like name, guardian’s name, parent’s phone number etc. 4. Also fill details like home address, area, state in it and submit. 5. After this click on the ‘Appointment’ option. 6. Next, choose the nearest enrolment centre and schedule your appointment. 7. Carry identity proof, address proof, proof of relationship, date of birth etc. with you while going to the Enrolment Centre. 8. After the details are modified here, you will get a receipt number, so that you can track it.

Update biometric details like this. 1. For this, you go to the official website of UIDAI and fix the time for your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre. 2. Carry all necessary updated documents along with your child’s birth certificate, identity proof and address proof while visiting the centre. 3. Aadhaar card of the parents should also be presented for updating the biometric details.
