What Is a Pension Payment Order, And How To Get A PPO Number?

If you have a PF account, then know that your one mistake can cost you dearly. If your PPO number is lost then your pension can be stopped. Actually, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) gives a unique number to its pensioners, which is called Pension Payment Order (PPO). On the basis of this number, pensioners are given a pension after retirement.

Why PPO number is very important?

Actually, according to the information given by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), the pension cannot be received without the PPO number. To identify the beneficiary pensioners from EPFO, every pensioner gets his own separate PPO number, from which you can also check the status of the account. If the PPO number is lost, it should be retrieved immediately. Let us know its complete process.

How you can again get your PPO number?

For this, first go to the official website of Employees Provident Fund Organization: https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php. After this go to the ‘Online Services’ section. – Select the option of ‘Pensioners Portal’ here. Now on the new page, select ‘Know Your PPO No’. Now enter the bank account in which your salary comes. If you want, you can also search by entering your PF number. Now after filling your details, submit it. Now you will see your PPO number on your screen.

Why is the PPO number important?

– PPO number is 12 digits which work as your reference. With the help of this number, you can contact the Central Pension Accounting Office. It also makes it easy to transfer your account from one bank branch to another. – If any kind of problem-related to pension comes, it can be easily diagnosed. – It is mandatory to enter this number to check pension status.
