Is subscribing to Jio’s Rs 3,662 annual prepaid plan profitable deal?

Jio has recently launched its annual plan of ₹3,662. But is this plan suitable for you? Read on to know.

Subscribing Jio’s newly launched ₹3,662 prepaid plan is profitable deal only if you need subscriptions of ZEE5 and SonyLIV OTT platforms and your daily data requirement is of 2.5 GB/day data.

If you buy the two OTT plans separately, that, are included as complimentary with Jio’s newly launched plan, then, you will have to pay ₹599 for mobile-only annual subscription plan of Sony LIV (as Jio includes only basic variants of OTT subscriptions as complimentary in its prepaid plans.) You will also have to pay ₹899 separately for annual subscription plan of ZEE5 which is the second OTT subscription plan included in Jio’s ₹3,662 prepaid plan.

So, instead of purchasing Jio’s prepaid plan, if you separately subscribe to basic versions of annual subscription plans of Sony LIV and ZEE5 on their respective apps, then, you will have to spend a total of  ₹(899 + 599) = ₹1,498 separately on annual basis for subscribing to these two OTT streaming platforms.

But you can get subscriptions of these two OTT platforms all at one place in Jio’s ₹3,662 prepaid plan. This way you straightway save ₹1,498 on annual basis.

Jio’s ₹3,662 annual prepaid plan offers 2.5/ GB data. Jio has no other annual plan with same amount of daily data. It has only one type of monthly prepaid plan that would give you 2.5 GB/day data. The cost of this monthly plan is ₹349. If you keep subscribing to this plan every month for one full year. You eventually end up making payments to the tune of ₹4,188. Moreover, you will not get complimentary subscriptions of those two OTT platforms in the monthly prepaid plan.

Plus, you would also pay ₹1,498 separately for subscribing to those two OTT subscriptions. So, you would be paying total of Rs (1,498 + 4,188) = ₹5,686 annually. But if you subscribe to the ₹3,662 prepaid plan, then, you would get all these benefits and you save ₹(5,686 – 3,662) = ₹2,025, on annual basis.

Saving ₹2,025 annually is really a profitable deal!
