SBI tells customers Aadhaar seeding is mandatory to receive benefits or subsidies

State Bank of India has announced via its Twitter handle that it is mandatory for an individual to link bank account with Aadhaar number.

“We would like to inform our customers that Aadhaar Card seeding is mandatory for those desirous of receiving any benefit or subsidy from Govt. of India through Direct Benefit Transfer,” the bank said on its handle.

Here’s how State Bank of India’s customers can link their accounts:

— Via Net Banking

— Via App

— Via SMS

— Via a visit to the nearest branch

Individuals can check the status on the My Aadhaar section in the UIDAI website.
