The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) has invited applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post of sub-inspectors/ sub-inspectress and sergeant in Kolkata Police. Submission of the online and offline application process is going on. The eligible and interested male and female candidates can submit their application forms till August 19, 2021, at 5.00 PM. Job aspirants who want to apply for the aforesaid post can check all related details below.

The last date of deposit of application fees for only those applicants applying through online mode using Punjab National Bank challan will be August 21, 2021, during banking hours.

Vacancy details

Through this recruitment drive, WBPRB will fill a total of 330 vacancies in the Kolkata Police. But, according to the official notification, the total number of vacancies are provisional and it may be increased or decreased. Take a look at post-wise vacancy details:

Sub-Inspector: 181 Posts

Sub-Inspectress: 27 Posts

Sergeant: 122 Posts

Salary

Payscale of level-10 in the pay matrix i.e. Rs 32,100 to Rs 82,900 per month.

Eligibility Criteria

Check the eligibility criteria for applying to the post of sub-inspectors/ sub-inspectress and sergeant of Kolkata Police.

– Educational qualifications: The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent.

– Age: Between 20 years to 27 years as on January 1, 2021. Relaxation to the upper age limit is applicable for the candidates of reserved categories of West Bengal only.

– Language: The applicant must be able to speak, read and write in Bengali. However, this provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts

Fee

The application and processing fee is Rs 270. For Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates of West Bengal, it is Rs 20.

Selection process

The vacancies shall be filled up on the basis of qualifying the preliminary examination followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Combined Competitive Examination, and Personality Test.
